What is PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM ?
Prince Edward Island (PEI) – the Atlantic island province has its unique coastal culture, which combined with its growing agriculture, fishing and tourism sectors is promising for foreign nationals who wish to immigrate here as skilled workers or entrepreneurs. The island with alittle population seeks to satisfy its skill requirements through its economic immigration program referred to as – The Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).
The province’s nomination program offers a spread of pathways for the immigration of skilled foreign nationals. The PNP has 3 major categories which have different immigration streams adding flexibility to the program. the three categories are:

There are 3 different pathways to permanent residency (PR) through the Labour Impact Category:
Skilled Worker Stream
Critical Worker Stream
International Graduate Stream
Before you submit an Expression of Interest, you would like to satisfy the eligibility criteria for the stream you would like to use . Please ask the eligibility criteria for every stream below:
Skilled Worker Stream
It is an employer-driven stream that permits employers in PEI to rent workers for high-skilled positions that they’re unable to fill through the local job market.
Following is that the eligibility criteria for the stream:
Full-time long-term (i.e. permanent or a minimum of two years) job offer from an employer in PEI in NOC skill level 0, A or B
Valid working papers for working in Canada
Legal status within the country of residence
Ability to attend an interview with office from PEI Office of Immigration, if required
A post-secondary degree or diploma during a minimum 2-year program
Age between 18-59 years
Minimum of two years of full-time work experience within the past 5 years
Language ability in English or French to effectively perform the work offered, language ability to be verified through one among the subsequent ways:
language test from an IRCC approved testing institute within the last 2 years with the minimum score of CLB/NCLC 4
Employer signed PEI PNP-L06 Employer Language Declaration
documents from an internationally recognized institute indicating that the principal language studied was English or French
Sufficient financial resources to pay all immigration costs for self and family to settle in PEI
A genuine intention to settle within the PEI
Critical Worker Stream
It is an employer-driven stream that permits employers in PEI to rent workers for low-skilled positions that they’re unable to fill through the local job market.
Following is that the eligibility criteria for the stream:
Full-time long-term (i.e. permanent or a minimum of two years) job offer from an employer in PEI in NOC skill level C or D
Minimum of 6 months of full-time work experience with a PEI employer
Valid working papers and status in Canada
Ability to attend an interview with office , if required
Minimum education of lyceum
Age between 18-59 years
Minimum of two years of full-time work experience or relevant education within the last 5 years
Language test from an IRCC approved testing institute within the last 2 years with the minimum score of CLB/NCLC 4
Financial resources to pay all immigration costs for self and family to settle in PEI
A genuine intention to settle within the PEI
International Graduates Stream
International Graduates Stream offers nomination for permanent residency to those candidates who have graduated from a publicly-funded PEI post-secondary institution. it’s an employer-driven stream that permits employers in PEI to rent workers for high-skilled positions that they’re unable to fill through the local job market.
Following is that the eligibility criteria for the stream:
Full-time long-term (i.e. permanent or minimum of two years) job offer from an employer in PEI
Valid post-graduate working papers with status in Canada
Ability to attend an interview with office from PEI Office of Immigration, if required
Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma from a publicly-funded PEI post-secondary institution
Aged between 18-59 years
Sufficient language skills in English and/or French language to perform the work offered
Sufficient financial resources to pay all immigration costs for self and family to settle in PEI
A genuine intention to settle within the PEI
PEI Business Impact
PEI features a pathway for entrepreneurs through the PEI PNP’s working papers Stream.
It is meant for the individuals who wish to return to PEI on a piece permit and operate a business for a minimum period of 1 year before receiving a nomination for permanent residency. Candidates who are invited to use under this stream, got to sign a Performance Agreement and, if approved, will receive a letter of support from the Office of Immigration to use for a piece permit that’s issued by the federal .
If the terms and conditions of the Performance Agreement are met, the candidate will receive a nomination for permanent residency.
Following is that the eligibility criteria for the Business Impact Category:
Minimum verifiable personal net worth of CAD $600,000 which has been accumulated through legal and bonafide sources in your title
Minimum education of lyceum equivalent
Age between 21-59 years at the time of application
Business ownership experience or transferable management skills and past employment
Minimum language requirements like CLB/NCLC 4
Intention to measure and add PEI at an equivalent time providing day-to-day active and ongoing management of own PEI-based business
Once you receive a nomination from the govt of PEI, subsequent step is to submit your application for Permanent Residency to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) together with your nomination certificate attached thereto . IRCC will assess your application on the idea of varied factors. The processing times might vary.
You need to notify the Office of Immigration immediately, just in case there are changes in your circumstances, like family status, employment, contact information, etc. While for any changes that occur after nomination, you’ll got to notify both – the Office of Immigration and IRCC.
